Tiger mom Cuc strives for a perfect traditional Vietnamese family, but when her daughter Mai faces mental illness and her son Quang comes out as gay, Cuc’s dream shatters. An unplanned baby of Mai enters their lives, prompting Quang to create a time capsule — this very film. He documents the family journey to prepare for a new cycle of motherhood, and opens a portal to the past. Reminiscing over the family diaries and photos, the trio endeavor to mend their ruptured bonds. Can they learn to accept each other and give the baby a loving home? Will Baby Guava love and be loved as they all wanted to be?
