Peter, a child soldier turned Harvard graduate activist, decides to return to South Sudan, the world’s newest nation which in 12 years has not offered its people an election. Peter is torn between his young country and his young family when he is thrown into prison and later targeted for assassination by the dictator. Forced into exile in the US, Peter – and his family – face a costly choice. Will he risk all and return to fight for democracy in his homeland which is rapidly crumbling in the clutches of Putin and the Wagner Group?
